The TSM Centre of Excellence in Banking, Applied Economics & Financial Markets aims to foster academic excellence, research, and industry engagement in the evolving domains of banking, applied economics, and finance. The Centre is supported by the Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation. It serves as a platform to bridge the gap between theory and practice by integrating rigorous academic insights with real-world financial applications. The Centre focuses on building competencies among students, researchers, and professionals while contributing to the broader goals of financial literacy, inclusion, and sustainable development.

The Centre is committed to promoting high-quality research, enhancing financial literacy and inclusion, supporting student innovation, and strengthening industry–academia collaboration through training, knowledge exchange, and community-focused initiatives.
The Centre undertakes a diverse set of activities, including international conferences, research workshops, and student development programmes to enhance knowledge and skills in finance and economics. It also actively engages in community outreach through financial literacy and inclusion initiatives targeting school/college students, working professionals, and micro-entrepreneurs. Through industry interactions, training programmes, and collaborative projects, the Centre aims to create meaningful academic and societal impact.
