Dr. K. Mathiyazhagan

Dr. K. Mathiyazhagan is Professor and Chairperson of the Research Centre at Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM), Madurai. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the areas of sustainability, supply chain management, quality management, and decision sciences.

He serves as Associate Editor for leading international journals, including the International Journal of Logistics Management (Emerald; ABDC-A; IF: 6.4), Journal of Knowledge Management (Emerald; ABDC-A; IF: 9.5), and Journal of Intellectual Capital (Emerald; ABDC-B; IF: 6.8), and as Assistant Editor for Environment, Development and Sustainability (Springer; IF: 4.9). He has also served as Guest Editor for special issues in reputed journals such as Journal of Business Logistics (JBL), International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management (IJPDLM), Sustainable Production and Consumption (SPC), and Socio-Economic Planning Sciences.

Dr. Mathiyazhagan has been recognized among the Top 2% of the World's Most Influential Scientists by Stanford University (Elsevier BV) for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, and 2025). He has also been ranked among the Top 5% of scientists globally by both the SCImago (SCIRank Global) and AD Scientific Index. The AD Scientific Index 2026 further recognizes him among the world's highly cited researchers, evaluating more than 2.6 million scientists worldwide based on citation impact. According to the Research.com Best Business and Management Scientists Rankings 2026, he is ranked 18th in India and 1,705th globally in the Business and Management domain.

With over 10,000 research citations, Dr. Mathiyazhagan has received several accolades, including the Excellence Citation Award from Emerald Publishing. His research interests include Green and Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Multi-Criteria Decision Making, Sustainable Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Circular Economy, and sustainability-oriented business practices.

He has delivered invited talks and conducted workshops at international conferences and academic institutions in the United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, and China. He has organized numerous international conferences and workshops, edited conference proceedings, and served as a reviewer for more than 30 prestigious international journals. He has also supervised several undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral scholars.

Dr. Mathiyazhagan has received research funding from organizations such as AICTE, ICSSR, and the West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB). His recent AICTE-funded initiatives focus on Six Sigma in Quality Management and Circular Economy practices.

In addition to his academic responsibilities at TSM, he serves as a Visiting Faculty Member at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy, fostering international collaboration in research and higher education.
